FITTING. There are 2 pole diameters found on these aerials. Its only about 1mm difference between them. I have therefore made the UMBRELLA to fit the larger of the two.
Start by wrapping 1 layer of electrical insulation tape around the top of the pole just beneath the antenna to form a thin gasket. With the smaller pole you just wrap about 3 or 4 layers. You may need to experiment with how many wraps you need to make the fit nice and snug. So basically wrap 1 layer of insulation tape around your extension pole at the top and them clamp the umbrella around it by pinching the two halves together with your fingers. If its a snug fit, you are good to go. Just fit your screws and tighten until the two halves come together. If it floppy, just add layers of tape until its snug.
